What is nose thread lifting?
Thread lifting is a procedure where temporary sutures are used to “lift” up a certain area of the face by applying traction to skin with threads. When being done on nose, it will make the nose bridge and/or nose tip higher and sharper!
How it works?
Depending on the severity and your desired design, a few threads will be inserted through a single point at the nose tip. This nose thread is not permanent, but those threads will continue to produce collagen and therefore retaining its shape and position.
What are the benefits?
Unlike the traditional nose lift surgery, thread lift is a safe, minimally invasive, non-surgical, lesser risk and natural skin lifting procedure.
Nose thread lift is a non-permanent solution compared to a surgical nose lift. When thread is inserted under the skin, it will lift, tighten and rejuvenate the surrounding skin layer. The thread is made of an absorbable material that can trigger the stimulation of collagen remodelling and produce and longer lifting effect will last for years even after it is fully dissolved.
As for a surgical nose lift, if you are unhappy with the result, you must go under the knife again to correct or remove it. Or sometimes you will not be able to correct it again.
Anything to take note after the treatment?
It is advisable to avoid excessive exercise or exercise that requires straining. During sleep, it is advisable to sleep in a fixed position with the head facing up. Swimming and sauna are forbidden for the first 2 weeks.
You can use a cool pack for comfort and if there are swelling.
What result to expect?
Technically it can last at the area for up to 12-18 months. Of course, it will also depend on your lifestyle and how severe your condition was at first.
Is there downtime / side effect?
There will be minimal swelling and minimal downtime.
But do make sure to follow doctor’s advise on the activities to avoid for the first 2 weeks after the treatment.
